Inari ( and ) is a municipality in Finland. The municipality was established in 1876. The largest villages of the municipality are Ivalo and Inari.
   It is located in Finnish Lapland. The municipality has a total population of 7,268 and covers an area of 17,321.32 km² of which 2,148.51 km² is water. It is the largest municipality in Finland. The population density is 0.5 inhabitants per km².
   The municipality has four official languages: Finnish, Inari Sami (400 speakers), Skolt Sami (400 speakers) and Northern Sami (700 speakers).
   Finland's largest National Park Lemmenjoki is partly located in Inari, as is the Urho Kekkonen National Park. Lake Inari, a lake in the Inari municipality, is the third largest lake in Finland, with an area of 1043 km², 40 km² smaller than the second largest lake, Lake Päijänne.
   The wilderness areas of Hammastunturi, Muotkatunturi, Paistunturi, Kaldoaivi and Tsarmitunturi are also located in Inari.
